To
get to the Surya Shibir site you need to go by road and then a boat
ride across the lake. The boats are provided by the Surya Shibir.
For road transport you can drive your own vehicle or ask for a Surya
Shibir provided vehicles. Different options of different capacity
vehicles are available.
Non vegetarian food, smoking and
consumption of alcoholic drinks is strictly prohibited. We also
insist on keeping the surroundings quiet and peaceful.
Specially trained boys and girls in the
age group of 18 to 25 work as a group leaders. They are educated to
handle the group activities and look after the members of there
respective groups.
A purified ,clean drinking water is available 24 hours. We have our
own cooks, who with the help of their assistants serve the in house
prepared fresh food everyday.
Demonstrator are experts in their respective fields like horse riding,
star gazing etc. These experts are specially invited by organizers and
they educate the participants about different aspects.
Camps are arranged in the Diwali as
well as summer vacations. Camps are conducted in April/May and September/October .The exact dates are announced one month prior to the camp dates.
The participants are distributed in different groups of around 15 children. Boys and girls have
different groups. A group is headed by a group leader. These group leaders are boys and girls in the age group of 18 to 25. A camp In-Charge monitors the activities of the camp. The camp-In charge is a senior person specifically trained to do such kind of job.
A care is taken to make girls the group leaders for the girls
groups.
The camp fees include to and fro transportation, stay at camp site, breakfast ,lunch and dinner during the camp. Fees also include charges for all the facilities and activities at the camp.
In short the charges includes everything and a child need not carry a single rupee with him/her.
